ESAF is a registered charitable society working to mainstream the marginalized people through Micro Enterprise Development & other Social Development initiatives.

ESAF Swasraya Producers Company Ltd (ESPCL) is a social enterprise from INDIA borne in Sep 2006 to meet livelihood needs of the Self Help Group members of the Micro-enterprise development program of ESAF.

Go Nature is a venture of ESAF in the tribal heartland of India – Jharkkhand & West Bengal, to provide opportunities for the marginalized & tribal craftsmen to enterprise and live a dignified life.

Mainstreaming the marginalized:

The tribal artisans were one of the most under privileged and weaker section of the society. But they have exemplary skills which has the potential to transform their lives. The knowledge and craft skills of indigenous people groups are streamlined to hit the contemporary market through design development. Design development doesn’t means altering the entire style of their art & skill, but a slight alteration in the shape & form which then turns into a contemporary utility product.

Women empowerment:

Women play an important role in our value chain. They were provided with opportunities for enterprising and better income, which enables them to give a better supporting hands to the family and nurture their children.

Creating Livelihood opportunities:

Through regular orders we ensure them a better livelihood at their villages itself. The artisans get 500% more income than what they were earning through their traditional methods. An innovative supply chain management system ensures regular works to the artisans and timely disbursement of pay and thus ensuring an assured, dignified livelihood.

Natural resource conservation:

Tribal communities have huge reserve of bio diversity in which they closely live with. The livelihood offered through this venture is a valuable alternative; otherwise they were living by yelling and selling trees, thus degrading the bio diversity of the region. We ensure the optimum usage of the natural resources which they use as raw materials and regeneration of the resources. A full-fledged bamboo nursery is developed and the artisans are supplied with saplings for plantation. This increases the resource reserve and contributing to the eco balance.

Ensuring community participation:

We strive to ensure maximum community participation and consider each producer member as our stakeholder through our producer company. We provide them opportunities to grow along with us through various capacity building programs, exposure visits and technical inputs. This build their confidence and make them better citizens of this country and contributors to their society.
